Leo Hillinger GmbH

The Hillinger history begins like any other classic winemaker story: In 1990 Leo Hillinger took over his father’s wine business.

From this point on, the story took on a rapidly upwards curve, which can mostly be attributed to Hillinger juniors extraordinary enthusiasm. In 2004, Leo put 6 million Euros into a new production site in Jois with an adjoining tasting and seminar centre, state of the art cellar technology, and sophisticated architecture with excellent design.

Beside his winery, he opened wine stores in Parndorf Burgenland, Vienna, Salzburg, Munich and Kitzbuehel with plans for more.

Around 50% of his production is exported to some 16 countries in total.

His philosophy: If the grape is good, there isn’t much more you can do in the cellar.

In 2010 Hillinger switched to organic winemaking in his winery.
