CEO, President

Klaus Reif

Born into a family with twelve generations of winemaking heritage, Klaus W. Reif seemed destined to follow in his ancestors' footsteps. His childhood home, nestled among the vineyards of Neustadt, Germany, provided the perfect backdrop for learning the craft. In 1978, Klaus visited Canada and was immediately drawn to the breathtaking landscapes of Niagara. Enchanted by the region’s fertile potential, he vowed to return after completing his studies at the Geisenheim Institute.

True to his promise, Klaus graduated in 1987 with degrees in Viticulture and Oenology and, just two weeks later, took the helm of Reif Estate Winery from his Uncle Ewald. Committed to producing outstanding wines in small batches, he embraced the philosophy that “great wines start in the vineyard”—a guiding principle that has fueled his continued success. Today, this same belief shapes the carefully curated wine selections offered through his new wine agency.
