The winery is ideally situated equidistant from Florence and Siena: two prime destination cities in the heart of the world-famous Tuscany region. The estate is hidden gem, closely surrounded by medieval hilltop villages and historical towns. Querceto is also in the centre of the Chianti Classico: the oldest and considered the most genuine wine-producing area in the Chianti region.

Guido Masini, originally from Florence, acquired the 200-acre estate in 1945. His daughter, Laura, took the management over in 1989 and, together with her architect husband, Giorgio Battista, she restored the 15th century structures on the estate and transformed them into an agriturismo with vacation apartments. At the same time, she focused on improving the 28 acres vineyards with organic technics.
