Marchesato Degli Aleramici

The winery Marcheasto Degli Aleramici with over 1000 years of history, established in 1986, near Siena in Montalcino was founded by the Fedriani family. The activity began in the early 80s in the IL Galampio farm from the love for these places and inimitable wines of the engineer Giacomo Fedriani. He gave the impression of the Fedriani family by outlining the cornerstones on which to base the production and image philosophy "Tradition, Elegance, Absolute Quality".

The ancient farm IL Galampio  is located on a gentle slope that descends from the state forest down towards the Ombrone river. The east and west facing vineyards and olive groves are close to the old farm. Approximately 47 hectares in all, 14 hectares are planted with vines. The Sienese district, to which Montalcino belongs, is one of the oldest wine-growing regions in the world. In this context , it is produced the Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montalcino.

The production of this famous wine is limited to the municipality of Montalcino. The grape variety is Sangiovese Grosso. 9 hectares of Brunello are grown in the Estate IL Galampio. A long time ago, even before these illustrious wines were produced, the IL Galampio farm, made a very special red wine from the same vine as the nowadays Brunello, their Galampia Rosso.

Today the winery is owned by Filippo Fedriani and his wife Emma and the carry on the company philosophy.
