Chardonnay Granitsteinfass

2020

PRODUCER: Lehner VARIETAL: Chardonnay
COD: Austria CATEGORY: White wine
ALCOHOL: 13.0% EXPANSION: 20 months in granite stone barrels

This Chardonnay was aged in granite stone barrels. After fermentation, this wine was stored on the fine lees in this natural stone barrel for 20 months before it was gently bottled.

The special feature of this new method of expansion is that the wine has more surface area thanks to the rough structure of the granite. This results in a higher gas exchange, meaning the wine can “breathe”. This promotes the wine’s advantages, which are reflected in the terroir. This Chardonnay has a fruity, nutty bouquet and beautiful creaminess with a high extract.
