Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 89 percent of all US wine.
The USA is the fourth largest wine producing country in the world, and with 1.100.000 acres under vine the sixth – most planted country in the world.
The state with the most production:
California, Washington, New York, Pennsylvania and Oregon, that is total of 95 percent of the entire US.
The main varieties are:
Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Zinfandel.
Because the climate, the West Coast produces the finest and the best wines.
