Chateau Pierrail

Established on a rocky promontory, the Chateau du Pierrail overlooks a small valley where the Fonchotte meanders. This small river has its source on the property and flows into a 3 ha lake , among the woods, in the center of the estate balanced, with a Mansart roof, flanked by two square towers, the Chateau d Pierrail was built in the  17th century on the ruins of a medieval castle. The origin of the house goes back to the very old Segur family. The Domain sits on 250 ha, a true haven of greenery with its country park and gardens, adjoining the rows of vines and walnut orchards respecting the environment.

From 1970, Jacques Demonchaux acquired this beautiful estate and endeavored to restore its brilliance and its economic balance. He is joined by his wife Alice, responsible for Sales and Marketing, and their son Aurelian, responsible for winemaking and production. The Demonchaux family just bought the famous Chateau Arnaud with another 17 hectares of viticulture land, this vineyard benefits of a superb clay and gravel terroir with South-East exposure.

The grape varieties are Sauvignon Blanc , Sauvignon Gris , Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
