WEINGUT BERCHER

The history of the Bercher family can be found back to the year of 1457. The reside for over 300 years in Burkheim  in the Kaiserstuhl the warmest wine region in Germany. Today the winery is run by Arne and Martin Bercher in the 10 th generation. Here in the Kaiserstuhl is a perfect condition to produce amazing Burgundy wines which the winery is famous for. The Kaiserstuhl is a small mountain range in south-west Baden with volcanic slopes.

The Bercher family owns 42 hectares on four different parts of the Kaiserstuhl, Burkheimer Feuerberg, Burkheimer Schlossgarten, Jechtinger Eichert and Sasbacher Limburg. It make them the second biggest privately owned producer in the area, but they are committed to high –quality wine production. Each of the four sites has a unique terroir of volcanic soils except for the Schlossgarten with its sandy-clay. The winery is producing Pinot Grigio, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Muskateller and Pinot Noir.
