In 1999 the Cantarelli family purchased a small farm on the hills overlooking the city of Orvieto , known at the time as Podere Caiano. The company, then abandoned , is rebuilt and expanded over the years following until reaching the current extension 35 hectares of which 20 in vineyards. The few rows of vines then existing were replaced starting from 2002 with new plants. After a few years of experimentation in the vinification , in 2011 it is realized the cellar Lapone , from the zone where it is placed. At the same time ,the existing farmhouses were renovated , dating back to the end of the 1800 s , to create the current structure configurable as a sort of widespread hotel where Piero and Ramona Cantarelli live and welcome friends and customers from all over the world.
