Milos Winery

The production of grapes and wine in Panivka on the peninsula of Peljesac has been a Milos family tradition for many generations . Production is based on the indigenous red wine variety of Plavac Mali .

Today, Milos winery owns 15 hectares of vineyards on some of the highest quality positions of the Peljesac peninsula. Milos vineyards are situated between the steep cliffs of the Prapratno bay and the village of Ponikva. The vineyards are raised on sandy soil , formed on the cliffs of the dolomites. Five more hectares are in preparation hand processing of vineyards and ecological production demand maximal attention to every detail.

A total understanding of Plavac Mali and its natural environment has given Milos family the opportunity to produce wine in a completely unique manner.

For over 20 years the quality of their wines has been attracting the spotlight of domestic and foreign critics. It’s thanks to that very spotlight that they have positioned themselves at the very top of the Croatian scene.

Stagnum Rose

Stagnum Rose is obtained from the finest grapes of Plavac mali variety, from our highest quality locations, terrace-like, manually and organically farmed vineyards. Wine is obtained through the natural squeezing of freshly picked grapes. This wine is a perfect portrayal of the finest dimension of Plavac mali as a variety, its freshness, fruitiness, fullness, piquancy and the noble richness of its pure juice. This rose is truly a serious, grand, atypical wine.

This wine is produced from terraced vineyards on the slopes of Pelješac peninsula. Only autochthonous yeasts is used for fermentation, and from start to finish all wine lives in large Slavonian oak barrels, never new. It is unfiltered and with minimum quantities of sulfites. 

This wine is a pure reflection of variety and terroir from which it comes. It is typical for the Pelješac peninsula and our style of wine. It has a very thick aromatic profile with dark fruit, minerals, herbal notes with sage domination. Deep and slow to open. The flavor is rich and concentrated, balanced with soft natural tannins. Elegant and long living.

30 year old head pruned Plavac Mali vines with a view of the crystal blue Adriatic, on the steep manually farmed terraced land of the Pelješac Peninsula, produce Stagnum, our finest wine. Wild fermentation followed by 72 months in large old Slavonian oak barrels, it is reflective of Plavac and its terroir. 

Rugged, beautiful, age worthy and rich in naturalness, Stagnum is a complex wine of rich bouquet, concentration and elegance. This wine is at the same time strong and flexible and is gentleman-like.
