Ernst Gouws & Co
It all began 40 years ago – or rather in 1694 when the French Huguenots came to South Africa and the first Gouws (then called Gauché) of the Ernst Gouws and Co family began what would be an epic journey into South African wines.
Many generations later, Ernst and his family boast a proud history of family winemaking. This Stellenbosch family has become synonymous with producing quality South African wines, rich in heritage and tradition and driven by a profound passion for wine and family values.

A modern example of a South African classic.
With upfront aromas of black and red berries, and the warmth of cloves and sweet anise, our Pinotage is a juicy number that is unashamedly moreish. Robust, clean fruit and smooth oak influence make it a real crowd-pleaser and an excellent example of South Africa’s own grape. Soft, ripe tannins coupled with a lengthy finish.
Serving Recommendation
Serve at ±18 degrees Celcius. This is the ideal partner for venison or a typical Sunday roast leg of lamb.

Presenting fresh, lively aromas of melon and granadilla, coupled with the gentle yet sustained presence of green pepper and tarragon, this beautifully collated wine has a full mid-palate that provides tropical and citrus characteristics. Finishing crisp and dry with a touch of gooseberry flesh, it is perfectly balanced and a fantastic Sauvignon Blanc for all taste buds.

Delicate straw yellow in colour with subtle green tinge. Vivid peach, apricot and melon aromas on the nose. A lively entry to the palate with ample fresh fruit character balanced by crisp and refreshing acidity, displaying some citrus notes that add vibrance.
