The winery was founded in 2000 with the concern of production high-quality wines, within the Rias Baixas Denomination of origin, taking advantage of the resources and quality with 92 hectares of their own vineyards, from which they best plots for a production of 10.000 bottles Tolloduero and 20.000 bottles of Pontellon. The vineyard is located six miles inland from the Atlantic Ocean in Galicia southwestern Spain , near the Portuguese border in cool climate Rias Baixas. But unlike many of their neighbours –who battle bracing winds from the sea and humidity from the nearby Mino River – Tollodouro’s vineyards perch above the chilly dampness below , on south-facing hillsides that afford them perfect ripening conditions.
