The winery was founded in 1918 in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, a village located in the Alt Penedès Shire, a well-known region for its wines and for being the place of birth of Cava. Our Cellar, situated downtown, kept the knowledge for almost a century that brought Dom Perignon to investigate how to keep the bubbles, produced then by a spontaneous second fermentation in the bottle. It was the Santacana Family, one of the most important families of the shire for those times, who started their journey into the wine’s world. By the 60’s, when many people discovered the Cava, their products became well known and famous. For those times the brand was already known as one of the most prestigious and well-valuated by the consumers.
